Reminder: Electronic Devices Prohibited in McLean County Law & Justice Center beginning June 1

Beginning June 1st the following electronic items will not be allowed entry into the McLean County Law and Justice Center:


Prohibited Electronic Devices: Including, but not limited to cellular phones, two-way radios, portable radios, iPods, MP3 players, portable computers (including tablets and laptops) and all other electronic devices capable of internet connectivity and/or audio or video recording.

The following group of individuals will be permitted to have the above listed devices:


  1. McLean County employees.
  2. Law enforcement officers acting in their official capacity.
  3. Duly summoned jurors.
  4. Properly credentialed attorneys.
  5. Properly credentialed members of the press.
  6. Approved vendors & contractors on the list maintained at lobby screening.
  7. DCFS personnel and other court advocates approved by the Chief Judge.
  8. Cell phones brought in as evidence must have prior approval of the presiding Judge.

Exempted persons are allowed to possess not more than 1 (one) cellular phone while in the Law & Justice Center.  Exempted persons found to be in possession of a prohibited electronic device belonging to a non-exempted person is subject to suspension and/or revocation of privileges.
