Resurfacing of IL 9 East of Bloomington
BLOOMINGTON – The Illinois Department of Transportation announces that work will begin September 13th on roadway improvements on IL 9 from east of Towanda Barnes Road to east of IL 165. The project includes patching, milling and resurfacing. Rowe Construction is the low bidder and will be performing the work on this $1,500,000 project. At least one lane will remain open in each direction during the project duration. The project is expected to be completed by the end of November, weather permitting.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, restrain from using mobile devices and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
