The McLean County Health Department is your partner in HIV/AIDS prevention. Through counseling, testing, community education, outreach and surveillance, the department works to prevent and control the spread of HIV/AIDS in McLean County.

At this time, there is no vaccine or cure for HIV or AIDS. An estimated 1 million people are currently living with HIV or AIDS in the United States. Illinois ranks seventh highest in the nation for the number of HIV/AIDS cases. Since reporting began in 1981, 139 McLean County residents have been reported as diagnosed with AIDS. However, nearly one-third of individuals in the United States who are HIV positive do not know they are infected. HIV Testing & Counseling Information

  • We offer free, anonymous HIV testing and counseling. If you have any questions about testing, please call (309) 888-5435.
  • Court ordered, immigration and travel testing is not provided.
  • Appointments are available Monday through Friday. Walk-ins are accepted on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
  • No fee is charged, but donations are accepted.
