The McLean County Health Department is your partner in HIV/AIDS prevention. Through counseling, testing, community education, outreach and surveillance, the department works to prevent and control the spread of HIV/AIDS in McLean County.
At this time, there is no vaccine or cure for HIV or AIDS. An estimated 1 million people are currently living with HIV or AIDS in the United States. Illinois ranks seventh highest in the nation for the number of HIV/AIDS cases. Since reporting began in 1981, 139 McLean County residents have been reported as diagnosed with AIDS. However, nearly one-third of individuals in the United States who are HIV positive do not know they are infected. Statistical information about HIV/AIDS in McLean County is available upon request as released by the Illinois Department of Public Health.

We offer free, anonymous HIV testing and counseling. If you have any questions about testing, please call (309) 888-5435.
Court ordered, immigration and travel testing is not provided.
Appointments are available Monday through Friday. Walk-ins are accepted on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
