McLean County Clerk's Office Receives over $172,000 for the 2020 Presidential Election

The McLean County Clerk's office has been notified that we will receive $172,547.48 from the FY21 CARES ACT to help offset some of our additional costs for the 2020 Presidential Election.

This is Federal Funding distributed by the Illinois State Board of Elections to assist with the additional cost impacting local budgets as a result of the new Illinois Election Legislation. Part of this legislation includes the mailing of a vote by mail application request form to registered voters in McLean County. This will be a mailing of approx. 60,000. Then, we will have the cost of mailing ballots back to all who submit their application request. How many will that be? That's our challenge and we are working hard to coordinate this effort, to have enough supplies and staff trained and ready to handle thousands of requests.
