Voter Question: Will the public be allowed to enter polling places after they close?
Posted on July 28, 2020 at 10:21 PM by Robert Watson
Pollwatchers who have requested and received proper approval in advance, then show their ID to the election judges may be present after the polls close. The general public is not allowed in polling places after the polls close.
If pollwatchers are in the polling place after close, and they request voting reports from optical scan and touchscreens before they are shut down, they may obtain copies of the tapes. If the machines are already shut down, tapes can not be printed.
Before departing the polling place for the night, election judges tape voting report tapes to external-facing windows. Anyone who would like to see voting results for a precinct may visit that precinct to view the posted tapes.
