[ARCHIVED] Evergreen Lake Fishing Report - August 15, 2011

Crappies still seem to be the ticket out here at Evergreen. We are getting more reports of fishermen catching them from or closer to shoreline. Early morning and evenings best on tube jigs or jig/minnow combo. Right now the hotspots are the north side of the Swimming Beach and by the Boat Rental/Bait Shop, and also some at the Pumphouse. Reports of saugeye are trickling in, but the reports are of small ones up to 16". Deep water drop-offs with jig/crawler combo doing the best. Bass are about the same with a lot of small ones be caught on live bait or plastics near structure. The few reports of bigger ones that we are getting are being caught in deeper water structure or points. Catfish are still being caught on stink baits and chicken liver. Bluegills are being caught all over the lake near shoreline structure on waxworms or redworms. Water temperatures are still a bit too high to fish for muskies.
Good Fishin', Mike
